For this plein air painting I was standing in direct sunshine to get the view I wanted. That, and the shade of red of the blossoms led to the title. This distinctive lily-like flower is a favourite of hummingbirds and they kept me company as I painted. They zipped by too fast to include though!

Painted on raised birch panel 3/4” deep. Sides left natural wood. Framed. Ready to hang.
