There’s a cormorant rookery on one side of the island I live on. I have kayaked nearby (not too close!) so this is a partly imagined scene. In the shadows where the rock plunges into the water, you can see all kinds of creatures and seaweed that enjoy the zone in the ebb and flow of the tides.

Painted on raised birch panel 3/4” deep. Sides left natural wood. Unframed. Ready to hang.
