8” x 10” horizontal oil painting on raised panel

Created plein air and alla prima on a hot, serene September day. I remember that I was glad to find a bit of shade to stand in to paint. Catching the light quickly and the rapidly shifting clouds was the main challenge with this one. I love the fresh, dynamic result of working this way.

Painted on raised birch panel 3/4”deep. Edges left natural wood. Unframed.
