8” x 10” horizontal oil painting on raised panel

Created plein air and alla prima at a local viewpoint of Gabriola Island looking east towards the mainland. On a very hot day, the ocean breeze and shady cool were a very enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. The tide was coming in quickly but I was happy to catch the feeling of the first view I saw when I started - as well as a heron, a sailboat and a very small dingy.

Painted on raised birch panel 3/4”deep. Edges left natural wood. Unframed.
