I went plein air painting on a cool autumn day with a friend and decided to go to the Malaspina Galleries. These curious rock formations are one of the most popular local tourist attractions and made for challenging painting. The sun was shining and casting lovely strong shadows but I did have to paint fairly quickly because the tide was rising.
